In cooperation with the new day center on the Willebroek campus, the Wille Wolle daycare center was realized. This project came about after much of the hospital activities of the Sint-Jozefziekenhuis were moved to Bornem. Since the existing 1985 hospital buildings were outdated, the decision was made to demolish and construct an energy-efficient new building that would house both the day care center and the necessary child care facilities.
The integration of the childcare and daycare center into one compact building provides an efficient and sustainable solution for the Willebroek region, where there was a high demand for additional childcare capacity. Opting for new construction proved significantly more cost-effective and energy efficient than renovating the aging hospital building.
The design of the nursery provides a modern, safe and comfortable environment for the children, with attention to sustainability and functionality. The building meets today’s energy performance requirements while providing the necessary space and amenities for both children and staff.
